Today....in the midst of painting, drinking coffee, answering phone and posting social media.....I looked down and just laughed out loud!
All I could think of was; "Do I have more paint on me than my palette?!
I love the creative process; you get so focussed and absorbed in what you are doing right then and there....that everything outside your peripheral view;
"goes to pause mode."
Love art!!!!

I just love Tammy Jo Schoppet Potter and her energy. \(*~*)/ She makes me do crazy things like...balancing her pottery on my head!!!! We have so much to share with everyone....and cannot wait for our upcoming show in October.  PS: She is getting a studio surprise visit too SHHHH!!!

#Natures beauties. The #inspiration was the #organic chaos in the #movement of the stems, petals and #color.......while underneath are quiet simplified round forms planted on the ground.
While at times I can and want to be that wild chaos....it is sometimes nice to just be a simple #form taking a little pause on life;)

Their #canvas is the soothing & undulating #hills.....the polar opposite! They are #organic..one rolls into the next.
Painting from this #inspiration is a way to say....I see how beautiful my surroundings are and I am #thankful.

This painting was created in Acrylics on a gallery wrapped board.
I used both Palette Knife and Brush to create this.

There is a time at night when all is quiet...except....MY mind:)

I am an artist and I think a lot of artists are like me.....Our MIND are ALWAYS at play!
Notice us used the word "play?"....this is because most say your mind is "working" overtime but, actually when they say this secretly I say...."No I'm still playing."

Last night I was quietly playing in my head... and a vision came into it.

 I usually just forget about it and it resurfaces another time later.....this time I just went for it!

I am pleased with the outcome...still not 100% sure of where this is....but it is my quiet place I envisioned...and I will take it.

Printing to my hearts content!

My printmaking background.... is being put to use today.

 I love the process.... 

from handcarving the plate, to the countless ink studies and layers upon layers of paint!

 The beautiful designs you can get from your plates are crisp,  colors are rich and the design elements you make from hard labor; carving, tooling, etching.....the ideas are endless!

This particular design, I created  was inspired for an Art Nouveau art show coming up at the "Carnegie museum" in Turlock, CA.
I hope I get accepted!

How to PROPERLY dry your paint brushes.

I am an artist that is always learning from other fellow art friends.....I enjoy discovering things on my own too!....I like ideas that make creating art a little more efficient.

These days I have been practicing placing my wet brushes on small plastic bubble wrap!  Cleaning brushes can not only be messy...but also, shorten the life of your brushes.....

Have you ever noticed the brush sits in a puddle and the handle too?...the water trails down the handle and moisture can warp or rot wooden handles!!!
The water puddles and for hours the brush sits before the brush actually dries...I have also tried putting only the brush to the edge of the sink....but water still trickles down the handles and onto the counter...MeSsy! Also you never want to clean brushes and place in a cup upright....as the water settles into the metal shaft and glue. The glue deteriorates and the metal can rust:(

Using plastic bubble wrap...raises your brush and the water collects like, a reservoir below the raised bubbles.

I love my new discovery...it keeps counters clean, brushes dry and no water warped handles and best yet....shortens the dry time!

Here is a WeT mess!

Find a spot you usually use to clean brushes

Cut small bubble wrap to size

Place bubble side up

Voila`

Brushes, and handles stay raised above while the water settles below.
